Asha M. George serves as the Executive Director of the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense since September 2019, previously holding the same title with the Blue Ribbon Study Panel on Biodefense from August 2014 to August 2019. Asha's extensive experience includes roles as Principal and Fellow at Strategic Operational Solutions and Analytic Director at CENTRA Technology Inc., where contributions included producing risk-informed analyses for DHS. Prior positions involved significant contributions to the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Homeland Security, as well as leadership roles in public health security and emergency preparedness. Asha holds a Doctorate in Public Health Policy and Security Preparedness from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a Master of Science in Parasitology and Laboratory Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University.
