James Arnold

James Arnold has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles.

James'smost recent position is as the CEO & Founder of Birchstone Markets Ltd. which they started in August 2021.

Prior to that, they worked at Investec from 2007 to 2020, serving as the Chief Client Officer, Corporate Banking from October 2018 to December 2020. Before that, they held roles such as Head of Global Markets from May 2016 to October 2018 and Founder & Head of Corporate Treasury from January 2007 to May 2016. In their role as Head of Investec Treasury Products & Distribution, they established and managed the Investec Corporate & Institutional Treasury business.

In their earlier career, James worked at Travelex in various positions. James was the Acting Head of CFX, Australia from January 2006 to September 2006, where they focused on improving volume and revenue and reporting to the Global CFX Director. Before that, they served as the Head of Global Dealing from December 2003 to December 2005, where they created global sales and dealing standards and implemented effective margin tactics that resulted in an incremental $4m.

Additionally, James held the position of Head of Canada CFX at Travelex Canada from January 2003 to November 2003. James'sresponsibilities included managing the acquisition of Bank of America portfolio, integrating clients and employees into Travelex, and ensuring a successful implementation.

During their tenure at Travelex, James also worked as an FX Dealer Manager at Travelex Corporate FX from November 2000 to December 2002, where they achieved 103% and 115% of the target for the Northern and French Desk in 2001 and 2002, respectively. James started as a Junior Corporate FX Dealer at Travelex Global Payments in 1997 and eventually became the Deputy General Manager from October 1998 to November 2000.

Other roles held by James at Travelex include Middle Office Manager at Travelex Financial Services (Australia) Pty. Ltd from December 1997 to June 1998, Senior Corporate Dealer at Travelex Global Payments from June 1998 to October 1998, and Middle Office at Travelex Corporate Payments from July 1996 to January 1997.

James Arnold has a comprehensive education history that includes various courses and degrees. In 1989, they began their education at Highgate School in London, specializing in Maths, Geography, and Economics. James pursued their studies there until 1996. In 1993, Arnold enrolled at The University of Manchester for a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, which they completed in 1996. In the following year, they attended the Australian Securities Institute to take the Foreign Exchange Fundamentals course and achieved a Distinction.
