Stuart Wells

Stuart Wells serves as the Executive Director of Bird Alliance of Oregon since May 2022, bringing extensive experience in conservation and education from previous roles, including Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Arizona and Director of Conservation and Science at the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation - Phoenix Zoo. Stuart has also contributed to national committees focused on diversity and inclusion within the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. candidate in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Arizona, an MS in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University, and a BS in Zoology from Northern Arizona University, among other educational achievements. Prior professional experience encompasses positions at the Smithsonian Institution and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, where Stuart worked on conservation initiatives and wildlife biology.
