Rik Bakker

Rik Bakker has held various positions in the corporate world since 2001. Rik began their career at DSM Petrochemicals as a Business Coordinator in 2001. In 2002, they moved to SABIC Petrochemicals, where they held the roles of Area Sales Manager and Product Manager. In 2006, they became Global Marketing Manager at DSM Dyneema. In 2008, they held the position of Marketing Director at Global Wind Power/Reliance Group. In 2010, they were a Senior Business Development Manager at Argos Oil. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Philips, where they held the roles of Senior Director Solutions Transformation, Supply Chain Program Director, Business Transformation Director, and Business Development Director. In 2014, they became the Owner of House of Icarus. In 2020, they joined Bird Control Group as Chief Executive Officer and Head of Commerce. In 2022, they took on the role of Venture Advisor (ancillary position) at LUMO Labs.

Rik Bakker earned their MSc in Business Administration from the University of Groningen between 1997 and 2001. Rik then completed a Certificate in Young Managers Program from INSEAD in 2005. In 2009, they obtained a Certificate in Creating Value Through Financial Management from The Wharton School. Between 2010 and 2011, they earned Certificates in Brand Management and Business, Law & Ethics from the University of Connecticut School of Business. Additionally, Rik Bakker has obtained several certifications, including a College Program - Non-Executive Board Member from Hemingway Professional Governance in 2022, Secure Base Leadership from Quaestus Executive Leadership in 2020, Making the Shift to Services from the University of Cambridge in 2019, a Leadership Development Program from the Center for Creative Leadership in 2013, a PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner from ILX Group in 2011, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Aveta Business Institute in 2011.
