Lisa Murison

Lisa Murison is the former General Counsel at Bird. Prior, Lisa served as the Executive Vice President of Operations, Chief Legal & People Officer at Edmunds from April 2016 to September 2021. In this role, they oversaw Corporate & Business Development, Strategic Sourcing (Procurement), Legal, Employment Experience (HR) and Workplace Experience (Facilities). Lisa was responsible for formalizing strategic and financial planning by translating strategic goals into department-level action plans cascaded to individual team members and consistently tracking against key metrics, budgets and projections. Additionally, Lisa led corporate finance transactions to syndicate senior debt, issue senior subordinated notes and secure significant equity investment from CarMax, Inc., closed the company’s acquisition by CarMax, Inc. in June 2021, and oversaw integration planning and execution. Furthermore, they implemented a document/contract management system, creating a source of record for hundreds of vendor relationships, and leveraged central reporting to manage expense across departments. Lastly, Lisa supported employee engagement efforts by partnering with leaders to have the greatest impact on driving the business forward by proactively assessing talent and organizational structure.

Lisa Murison pursued a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Cape Town before completing a Bachelor of Laws at the same institution. Lisa then went on to study for an LLM in International Finance at Harvard Law School.
