LaNiesha Pedroza has been working in the human services field since 2003. LaNiesha started their career as a Counselor at Families First in 2003, where they supervised and counseled severely emotionally disturbed children ages 6-16 on a one-on-one basis and group setting. LaNiesha also collaborated with the treatment team to develop and implement behavioral treatment plans and activities. In 2005, LaNiesha began working as a Counselor at Edgewood Center for Children and Families, where they supported severely emotional disturbed children ages 7-16 in a classroom and in the home setting. In 2007, LaNiesha became a Receptionist at Eleven, Inc., where they scheduled appointments, maintained a calendar of events, collaborated with staff to complete all tasks, coordinated business meetings and lunch events, and maintained company files, databases, and contact information. In 2008, LaNiesha began working as a Parenting Counselor at Walden House F.O.T.E.P (female offenders treatment employment program), where they provided individualized counseling for ex-offender women affected by substance abuse, trauma and incarceration. LaNiesha also met with clients weekly to establish family reunification goals, assess and document their progress, and acted as a liaison between children and mothers in reunification to help form and maintain responsible relationships. In 2017, LaNiesha began working as a Victim Advocate at Freedom House Burlingame (Anti human trafficking program). Most recently, in 2021, LaNiesha began working as a Brand Ambassador at Birdies.
LaNiesha Pedroza is currently enrolled at Mills College, where they are pursuing a degree in Public Health. LaNiesha also holds a certificate from La Casa De las Madres for 40 hours of Domestic Violence training. From 2000-2002, LaNiesha attended City College of San Francisco and earned an Associate of Science in Mathematics and Science, an Associate of Science in Social and Behavioral Science, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities. Additionally, they hold a Certificate 40 hour trained from Freedom House in Human Trafficking Survivors Advocate.
