Ocean Boyd, PMP, currently serves as the Planning and Development Manager at Birmingham Airport Authority since July 2015, overseeing projects that align with the Airport Master Plan while minimizing operational impacts. Responsibilities include managing planning consultants, maintaining essential airport documentation, implementing noise land redevelopment strategies, and ensuring compliance with quality and contractual standards. Previously, Ocean held roles as an Airport Planner and Project Manager, and Operations and Planning Assistant, with a foundation in airport compliance. Ocean began a career in airport operations as a Traffic Control Officer at Pensacola International Airport. Ocean holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from the University of West Florida.

The Birmingham Airport Authority was established in 1986 by the Birmingham City Council to manage the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and continue its growth. The Birmingham Airport Authority is governed by a seven member Board of Directors, appointed by the Mayor of City of Birmingham and confirmed by the Birmingham City Council. The day to day operation is managed by the President and CEO and The Birmingham Airport Authority staff of over 100 employees within five departments. The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) home to four major airlines with over 100 daily flights to 15 cities for more than 2.6 million passengers in 2016. BHM offers a great variety of food and retail options for passengers along with amenities for all passengers alike.
