Mavis Gewant

Mavis Gewant is the owner and sacred artist at Sacred Mother Arts, where Mavis has been creating healing and transformational sacred art pieces, such as yantras, mandalas, and deity paintings, since 1987. In addition to artistic endeavors, Mavis serves as a labor and postpartum doula, baby intuitive, birth counselor, and certified lactation consultant at Gentle Care Doula Service since 1993, providing support in labor and postpartum care, as well as education on breastfeeding and newborn care. Mavis also contributes to the field as a doula trainer for Birth Arts International starting in 2010, conducting trainings for birth doulas, postpartum doulas, and childbirth educators worldwide. Mavis Gewant holds an M.A. in Pre & Perinatal Psychology from Santa Barbara Graduate Institute and a BA in Visual Arts from SUNY Empire State College, alongside studies at the School of Visual Arts.
