Chris Kuyken, a Fellow Chartered PE, has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 1980, they served as a Group Commander in the Royal Dutch Army for the United Nations in Lebanon. In 1982, they worked as a Process Engineer and Pilot Plant Team Leader for Harshaw Chemicals, a subsidiary of Gulf Oil.

In 1983, Kuyken joined Shell as a Trainee Driller and steadily progressed through various roles, including AD, Driller, Drilling Supervisor, and Senior Drilling Supervisor for PDO. From 1991 to 1996, they served as a Drilling Technology & Completions Engineer, Drilling Standards Engineer, and Operations Engineer in Brunei Shell. Chris then became a Rig Superintendent for Brunei Shell from 1997 to 1999.

Moving to Shell Expro Aberdeen, Kuyken took on the role of Head of Technical Support and Deliver the Limit from 1999 to 2002. Chris then became the Team Leader for Wells Technology, overseeing the deployment of new technology and technical assurance. From 2003 to 2006, they served as the Regional New Technology Manager for Shell EP Europe, implementing a technology deployment system and delivering value from new technologies.

In 2006, Kuyken joined ADCO, a subsidiary of Shell, as the Vice President of the Drilling Division. Chris was responsible for overall performance and leadership of the Drilling Division, including safety, operational efficiency, and cost management. In 2010, they became the Vice President of the Drilling Division and later served as the Senior Vice President of the Drilling Function, leading a team of VPs and managers.

Kuyken joined AlMansoori Specialized Engineering in 2017 as the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for the company's new technology strategy and integrated drilling services. Chris later became the VP of Integrated Services and the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing the execution of drilling and well services contracts and implementing lean processes.

Currently, Kuyken works as the Regional Business Development Manager for BiSN, focusing on expanding the company's performance barrier technologies in the Middle East and North Africa region. Chris advises clients on reducing overall exposure and optimizing resource utilization.

Throughout their career, Chris Kuyken has demonstrated their expertise in drilling, technology implementation, business development, and leadership within the oil and gas industry.

Chris Kuyken, Fellow Chartered PE, has a diverse education history. Chris obtained their BSc in Chemical Engineering from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences from 1976 to 1980. Prior to that, they received their High School Diploma in Mathematics from Christelijk Lyceum Alphen aan de Rijn in 1976. In 2011, they attended INSEAD, where they completed the Shell Business Leadership Program (MBA) with a focus on Leadership.

In addition to their formal education, Chris Kuyken also holds several certifications. Chris became a Fellow Chartered Petroleum Engineer in 2005, as well as a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Scientist in the same year. Chris obtained the Chartered Engineer certification in 1996. Furthermore, they also hold the European Engineer certification from FEANI, obtained in 1994. Chris Kuyken is also an Accredited Contract Manager, having earned this certification from IACCM in October 2011.
