Megan Mackel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Megan began their career as a Promotions and Production Intern at Wine Country Radio in September 2003. Megan then worked as a Marketing Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder from September 2004 to May 2005. Megan then gained customer service experience as a Front Desk Representative and Concierge at Hotel Boulderado from May 2005 to September 2008.
In September 2008, Megan transitioned to a career in photography, starting as a Photographer at WSEE-TV. Megan then moved to WJET-TV in August 2009 and continued working as a Photographer until December 2010. Megan then joined WDSU-TV in December 2010 and held the role of Photographer until April 2015 when they were promoted to Chief Photographer. Megan remained in this role until February 2019 when they joined Bitcentral, Inc. as an Implementation Project Manager.
In September 2020, Megan expanded their skill set by becoming an Adjunct Instructor for Drone Piloting at Loyola University New Orleans. Megan held this role until December 2021. Megan's work experience demonstrates their versatility and adaptability across roles in media production, customer service, marketing, and project management.
Megan Mackel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Production Management from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2007. Megan then pursued a Master of Library & Information Science degree from Louisiana State University, which they completed in 2019. In addition to their formal education, Megan holds certifications as an Adobe Certified Professional in Digital Video and as a Part 107 Drone Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration.
