Santiago González Fuente has had a varied work experience. In 2008, they were a Technically Specialized Coordinator of the transcription team for a project funded by the MEC at the University of Barcelona. Santiago was also a Technically Specialized Segmenter of Spectrograms and Transcriber and Tagger of Oral Corpus at Verbio Speech Technologies S.L. in the same year. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Technically Specialized Annotator of Linguistic Corpus at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Pianist at Café del Centre and as a Computational Linguist. In 2017, they also began working as an Adjunct Professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). In 2019, they began working as an Adjunct Professor of Linguistics at the Centro Universitario CIESE-Comillas. Santiago is currently a Project Manager at Bitext, a role they have held since 2022.
Santiago González Fuente completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2017, with a field of study in Cognitive Linguistics / Gestures, Prosody and Linguistic structure, and was awarded an EXTRAORDINARY THESIS AWARD in 2019. Santiago also earned a Máster from UIMP - CSIC in 2011-2012 in Fonética y Fonología. From 2005 to 2011, they obtained a Licentiate degree from Universitat de Barcelona in Spanish Language and Literature. Additionally, they earned a Licenciado from Universitat de Barcelona in 2008-2010 in Lingüística. Santiago González Fuente also obtained a Diplomado from Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceo de Barcelona in 1995-2003 in Piano, as well as a Diplomado from Universitat de Barcelona in 1998-2001 in Magisterio Musical.
