Pengyu Chen

Pengyu Chen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries and roles.

Pengyu currently works as a Staff Software Engineer at BitGo, starting in November 2021.

Prior to their current position, Chen worked at Overstock.com as a Principal Software Engineer from February 2021 to November 2021. During this time, they were responsible for launching Overstock Government's retail e-commerce website and backend system. Pengyu also built and integrated an automatic testing environment with a CI/CD pipeline and automated the product onboarding and categorization process.

From January 2018 to February 2021, Chen served as a Principal Software Engineer at Medici Ventures. In this role, they mentored other engineers and led the design, development, and testing of backend services for blockchain-related applications, including a cryptocurrency wallet with trading functionalities and a COVID-19 test result certificate service integrated with EPIC health info system.

Before Medici Ventures, Chen worked at Primary Data Inc as a Staff Software Engineer from July 2017 to January 2018, and at Western Digital as a Principal Software Engineer from November 2012 to June 2017. At Primary Data Inc, they focused on developing storage and appliance management systems, while at Western Digital, they developed storage and appliance management systems using web service technologies and worked with frontend technologies such as Javascript and AngularJS.

Chen's earlier experiences include working as a Senior Software Engineer at Rockwell Collins from October 2008 to November 2012, where they developed 3D flight simulation software, and as a Senior Software Engineer at Sensory Sweep LLC from May 2005 to October 2008, where they developed video games and focused on 3D graphics rendering and physics.

Pengyu Chen completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Tamkang University in the years 1992 to 1996. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Information Management from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology from 1995 to 1998. Later on, they went to Utah State University to attain another Master's Degree, this time in Computer Engineering, from 2002 to 2005.
