Casey Alt

Head of Product & Design at Bitmark

Casey Alt has over 25 years of professional experience in various roles. In 1991, they started their career as a Cryptologic Linguist in the US Army. In 2004, they became the Program Director of Information Science + Information Studies at Duke University. In 2007, they took on a freelance and intern role as a Graphics Editor at The New York Times. In 2009, they were an Adjunct Asst Professor of Architecture at Columbia University in the City of New York and a Visiting Assistant Professor of the Practice at Duke University. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Director of Interface & Design at Openmoko - SHR. Most recently, they have been the Head of Product & Design at Bitmark Inc. since 2014.

Casey Alt attended the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1994 to 1996. Casey then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Program in Human Biology and Minor in Studio Art at Stanford University from 1996 to 1999. Afterward, they obtained an Arabic Linguist Certification from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center from 1991 to 1993. Alt then returned to Stanford University to pursue a Master's Degree in Theirtory and Philosophy of Science and Technology, which they completed in 2004. In 2006, they obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Design | Media Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, they obtained a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification from CrossFit, Inc. in August 2017.
