Senior Cloud Architect

We are on the lookout for a Senior Cloud Architect with a Google Cloud focus to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will be most interested in working with enterprises to adopt modern data systems with foundational cloud infrastructure elements. The Senior Cloud Architect will work closely with our engineering team which includes architects and engineers in Cloud, Data, and Machine Learning. This role will also from time to time collaborate with technical leadership and the sales and marketing teams to contribute thought leadership for customers in our sales pipeline and marketing strategies. 

As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will spend the majority of your day devising cloud-native architectures and solutions to solve complex business and technology problems, largely on the data side of the stack. You will work mostly with the Google Cloud Platform but knowledge of other clouds will help you be successful during migration work. You will be most concerned with identifying the optimal infrastructure components to power Data Platforms, Enterprise Data Warehouses, as well as (less commonly) application workloads. At Bitstrapped we enable Cloud Architects to also contribute to the deployment and configuration of their solutions. The ideal candidate should prefer to spend a portion of their time with implementation. 

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a solutions architect in an enterprise environment, with the ability and interest to support up to 3 client accounts at any given time

• At least 3 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform

• Experience being the technical lead on architecture decisions, collaborating with other engineering and IT staff, as well as the client teams to get the full picture and requirements

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification preferred

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and AWS clouds is beneficial

• Strong knowledge of best practices for architecting Analytics systems comprised of concepts including Data Platforms and Enterprise Data Warehouses, Business Intelligence, Databases, as well as containerized workloads with Docker

• Experience with migration of legacy and on-premise systems such as Oracle JDE, MySQL, and application workloads

• Experience working with enterprise standards for networking, security, and performance

• Strong understanding of Microservice-based architecture, APIs, and application deployments

• Experience working closely with technical project management and delivery management to contribute and assist in scoping, project plans, and estimation

• 1+ years’ experience with DevOps infrastructure automation tools (Terraform).

• Experience with one or many CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, CicleCI, Bitbucket, and additional DevOps Technologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must

• Experience in at least one programming language, preferably GoLang, Python

• Experience with JAVA is nice to have
