Maja Smisl

Maja Smisl is an accomplished legal and compliance professional with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as the Head of Compliance at BKS BANK since August 2021, Maja has held several prominent roles including Legal Specialist and Tax Compliance Officer at Nova KBM d.d. from 2016 to July 2021. Prior to that, advisory positions in legal affairs were undertaken at Energetika Celje and VO-KA Celje from 2013 to February 2016. Maja also led the Property Legal Department and Public Procurement Department at the Public Housing Fund Maribor between September 2011 and November 2013, after starting as an Advisor for Property Affairs at the same organization from 2007 to 2011. Education credentials include a Bar Exam from the Ministry of Justice and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Faculty of Law in Maribor.
