Ivan Watson

Ivan Watson is an experienced communications and marketing strategist with a diverse background in academia, freelance writing, and non-profit leadership. Currently serving at the University of Victoria since March 2022, Ivan holds multiple roles, including in the Faculty of Engineering & Computer Science and as an elected member of the UVic Board of Governors. Ivan's freelance career spans over a decade, focusing on writing, editing, journalism, and marketing strategy. Previous roles include serving as a history columnist for Tweed Magazine and a marketing strategist at Camosun College. Ivan has held significant leadership positions with United Way of Greater Victoria and the Victoria Leadership Awards. Ivan's educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in History, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History, various certificates in Public Relations and E-Business, and an ongoing Bachelor of Laws at the University of London.
