Jay Chai

Jay Chai is a seasoned finance executive currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at BlackBerry since May 2019, where management responsibilities include overseeing a global team of approximately 100 finance professionals across various financial functions. Prior to this role, Jay was a Partner at Deloitte for over two decades, specializing in the retail industry and providing audit and advisory services to clients in both the US and Canada, while also contributing to Deloitte's Global IFRS & Offerings Services group. In addition, Jay has experience in academia as a Special Lecturer at the University of Waterloo, where curriculum development focused on corporate governance and enterprise risk management. Jay's educational background is also from the University of Waterloo.
