Zeb Blais

Zeb Blais has a diverse work experience in the mountain guiding industry. Zeb is currently the Business Owner of Blackbird Mountain Guides since April 2020. Previously, they served as a Lead Guide at Alpenglow Expeditions from June 2015 to March 2020. Before that, they worked as a Lead Guide at RMI Expeditions from March 2010 to September 2018. Additionally, they had brief stints as a Mountain Guide at Infinity Expeditions (Melissa Arnot) in 2015 and as a Lead Guide at California Alpine Guides from 2010 to 2012.

Zeb Blais has a diverse education history. Zeb first obtained their IFMGA/American Mountain Guide certification from the American Mountain Guides Association. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Boston University College of Engineering, completing their studies from 2000 to 2004. In 2011, Zeb Blais attended AIARE for their AIARE 3 program, specializing in snow science and avalanche forecasting. Additionally, they became an AIARE 1 Course Leader, focusing on Avalanche Education. Zeb Blais also holds various certifications, such as being a Licensed Avalanche Blaster by the State of California and having obtained Wilderness First Responder certification from the American Health and Safety Institute.
