Clare Birch

Clare Birch is an Investments Associate at Blackbird Ventures. Clare has previously worked as a Programs Coordinator at DeadlyScience, and as a Casual Academic at the University of Sydney.

As a Programs Coordinator at DeadlyScience, Clare was responsible for establishing the internal organizational structure and SOPs, managing key relationships with corporates and government bodies, securing over $500k in funding through grants and negotiations, and setting up co-design of impactful education programs for remote students with remote communities, including a major STEM resource translation project and a set of at-home lab kits with Merck.

At the University of Sydney, Clare was responsible for developing and delivering in-person and remote skills workshops to Chemistry students, managing a team of demonstrators to run top-tier chemistry workshops and competitions, including the 2021 RACI NSW Titration Competition, developing content and managing team for delivery of workshops to rural students ('Kickstart on the Road', Orange, May 2021), and creating and running International Science School (ISS) 2021 Chemistry workshops ('Is the Universe Ruled by Chaos?', July 2021).

Clare Birch has a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) (Honours) in Quantum Simulation from the University of Sydney. Clare also has a Bachelor of Science (Adv) in Chemistry, Mathematics from the University of Sydney. In addition, they did a Research Exchange in Biochemistry at Nanjing University. Clare also has an International Baccalaureate in English A1 (HL), French B (HL), Clare'story (HL), Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics from Queenwood School. Finally, they have a certification from MITx on edX in Verified Certificate | 7.28.1x: Molecular Biology Part 1 - DNA Replication and Repair.
