Nivas Asok Kumar

Nivas Asok Kumar, PhD, is an accomplished Applied Neuroscientist and Neuroscience Applications Engineer at Blackrock Neurotech since November 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Sales Engineer at Ripple Neuro and a PhD Candidate at the University of Houston, where research focused on the influence of reward expectation on sensorimotor cortices interactions. Nivas has extensive experience in neural data collection from Non-Human Primates and has contributed as a Teaching Assistant for a graduate-level course on Brain Machine Interfacing. Prior internships include work at Battelle on brain-machine interfaces, a summer role at Texas Heart Institute utilizing fractal analysis, and research assistance at the University of Houston involving fMRI data analysis related to addiction. Nivas holds a PhD and a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sona College of Technology.
