Piotr Knap

Piotr Knap is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in architecture and development across various industries. Currently serving as the Director of Architecture and DevOps at BlackRock since July 2021, Piotr successfully established a team focused on defining innovative architecture for SMA Solutions applications and implemented modern GitOps practices, enhancing deployment quality. Prior to BlackRock, Piotr held various roles at HERE Technologies from June 2012 to July 2021, including Senior Principal Architect, where efforts concentrated on developing Data Lake and Big Data Analytics capabilities, as well as leading the implementation of critical components for the Open Location Platform. Earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of Application Development at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where Piotr contributed to the GFX Platform for currency trading, and as Technical Lead at Sears Holdings Corporation, managing teams for the Sears Home Services site. Piotr holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Warsaw University of Technology and has further education from Paderborn University.
