Taotao Cai

Taotao Cai is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as Director and Head of Quant Research at BlackRock, a role held since February 2021. In this position, Taotao leads the Quant Research team for BlackRock SMA Solutions, focusing on product innovation, investment strategy development, and quantitative research related to tax-aware optimization and portfolio management. Prior to BlackRock, Taotao held roles such as Director of Quant Research and VP of Quant Research at Aperio, which was acquired by BlackRock. Taotao's earlier experience includes positions as an Option Trader and Quant Researcher at Bluefin Trading LLC. Taotao's academic background includes a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
