Aaron M. Roth

Aaron M. Roth is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the Head of Autonomy Technology at BlackSea Technologies since September 2023. Previous roles include Autonomous Robotics Research Scientist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory from October 2021 to August 2023, where projects focused on reinforcement learning and robotics. As a Graduate Researcher at the University of Maryland, Aaron contributed to AI and robotics research, particularly in explainable reinforcement learning. Mentoring roles at the Stanford Existential Risks Initiative involved guiding graduate students on AI-related topics. Early experience includes positions as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, Software Engineer at Digital Reasoning Systems, and Software Developer at WishWould, among others. Aaron holds a Master of Science in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Nanotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania.
