Shabab Bazrafkan

Shabab Bazrafkan started their work experience in 2018 as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Antwerp. Shabab worked in this role from October 2018 to September 2020.

In 2020, Shabab joined blackshark.ai as a Computer Vision & Machine Learning Software Engineer. Shabab started this role in September 2020 and continued until April 2023.

During their time at blackshark.ai, Shabab also held the position of Machine Learning Lead Engineer from March 2022 to April 2023. Later, in March 2023, they were promoted to the role of Head of Machine Learning, where they currently work.

Shabab Bazrafkan completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Urmia University, from the years 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in communication engineering, specifically in the medical image processing branch, from Shiraz University of Technology, from 2011 to 2013. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Galway, from 2015 to 2018.
