Kaushik Shamantha

Kaushik Shamantha has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Kaushik currently works at BlackSwan Technologies as a Data Engineer, where they focus on data extraction applications using technologies such as Python, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, and Microsoft Azure. Prior to that, Kaushik worked at IUCN as a Software Engineer, where they contributed to three main applications: IUCN Red List Web Application, IUCN Red List Species Information System (SIS) Connect Application, and IUCN Red List DOI Application. Their technical expertise included Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Before joining IUCN, Kaushik worked at Fidenz Technologies as a Software Engineer, where they worked on various projects with geolocation properties using technologies such as Ruby on Rails, PHP - Moodle, React, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, and AWS. Kaushik started their journey as a Trainee Software Engineer at Inova IT Systems, where they gained experience in engineering design methodologies and contributed to the development lifecycle.

Kaushik Shamantha completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from SLIIT from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they attended Nalanda College Colombo from 2010 to 2012, where they pursued the Physical Science stream (Maths stream). Additionally, Kaushik has obtained several certifications in various fields, including data science, Python, statistics, Spark, SQL, and Docker, from institutions such as LinkedIn, Coursera, Great Learning, edX, and Udemy.
