Abigail Dessecker

Operations Engineer at Blaschak Coal Corporation

Abigail Dessecker has worked for several companies since 2015. Abigail began their career as a Cashier at Jo-Ann Stores, LLC. in 2015. Abigail also worked as a Dining Services Wage Employee and a Peer Mentor at Virginia Tech in the same year. In 2017, they were an intern at Pennsy Supply Inc. where they utilized Kespry drone software for stockpile inventory and performed calculations and testing for a new silt filtration system. In 2018, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech Mining and Minerals Engineering and a Mining Intern at Albemarle Corporation, where they performed geochemical analysis on high iron pegmatite samples and was trained in proper core logging techniques. Currently, they are an Operations Engineer at Blaschak Anthracite.

Abigail Dessecker attended Linganore High School from 2011 to 2015 and obtained their high school degree. Abigail then attended Virginia Tech from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering. Additionally, they hold a Remote Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration.
