About the role

The Project Manager will be part of BlastOne’s Industrial Solutions (BIS) division who are involved in designing and building industrial applications from small modular blast rooms to large blast and paint facilities for ship modules. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects successfully. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management best practices, and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients. Based out of your preferred location at our Osborne, SA or Melbourne, VIC branch, regular travel to project locations is required for site visits, and meetings with clients and/or subcontractors. Key duties also include:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Monitor construction progress, track key milestones, and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs whilst ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Allocate project resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Establish and implement quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
  • Enforce and promote strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Finance department to issue invoices when required, and as per agreed schedule.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Ensure a smooth project closeout process, including final inspections, documentation, and client handover.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A proven track record of successfully managing projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or similar field.
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and project management methodologies tools and techniques.
  • Experienced in estimating and producing tenders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Experience in the blasting and painting industry an advantage.
