Heather Dobbins

Senior Lead of Clinical Informatics at BLH Technologies, Inc.

Heather Dobbins has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Heather started their career as a Research Technician at the Neural Systems Lab, Institute for Systems Research of the University of Maryland in 2001. Heather then joined the University of Maryland, Baltimore as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they gained expertise in data collection, trial design, statistical analysis, and peer review. Additionally, they were involved in veterinary medical and surgical techniques, human subjects research, and programming.

Continuing their career, Dobbins worked as a Teaching and Learning Fellow and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Maryland. In these roles, they focused on physics education research and held concurrent duties.

Heather then transitioned to a role as a Project Director and Lead Results Analyst for ClinicalTrials.gov at ICF International from 2009 to 2012. Following that, they joined the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, MD as a Staff Scientist and ClinicalTrials.gov Lead Results Analyst, where they worked until 2022.

Most recently, Dobbins became the Senior Lead of Clinical Informatics at BLH Technologies, Inc. in 2022.

Heather Dobbins obtained their first Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology at the University of Maryland from 1994 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a second Bachelor of Science in Physics at the same institution from 1997 to 2001. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to earn a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland Baltimore, where they were enrolled from 2001 to 2008.
