Role Overview: 

As our very first SecOps team member, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's digital infrastructure against a myriad of cyber threats. Your duties will include a range of critical tasks such as continuous monitoring of network activity, analyzing security alerts, investigating potential breaches, and orchestrating rapid response protocols when incidents occur. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement and enforce security policies, conduct regular vulnerability assessments, and stay abreast of emerging threats and industry best practices. Advanced knowledge of SOC2 and ISO27001 is a must. 

Key Competencies:

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency and expertise within specialized technical domains.
  • Advanced domain knowledge proactively and reactively increasing the security of software systems. You love teaching other engineers about common and strange attack vectors, you have CVEs notifications on high alert.
  • Boast a comprehensive understanding of programming languages, methodologies, and tools, utilizing this knowledge to autonomously tackle technical obstacles.
  • Provide mentorship to junior colleagues, offering valuable technical direction and guiding them in terms of best practices from a security perspective.

  • Act as a key player in system design talks, contributing to architectural choices ensuring we stay compliant.
  • Work proactively to increase the security posture of our core customer facing apps, especially around identity, authorisation, and authentication.
  • Ensure the architecture and design of our internal systems and controls is kept up to date with best practice.
  • Take the lead in designing major system elements, ensuring they harmonize seamlessly with the broader system architecture.
  1. Better on the Inside:
  • Actively lead and drive improvements to internal workflows.
  • Champion initiatives aimed at optimizing operations, swiftly identifying and rectifying bottlenecks.
  • Introduce fresh strategies to elevate internal tools, methodologies, and workflows, showcasing a proactive stance towards refining internal systems and processes, particularly when it comes to systematisation of security practices: key rotation, secrets storage, and secure engineering approaches are your jam.
