Marisa Tashman Coppel

Marisa Tashman Coppel has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Marisa currently holds the position of Head of Legal at Blockchain Association since 2024. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Counsel at the same organization from 2023 to 2024. Marisa also served as a Policy Counsel at Blockchain Association from 2022 to 2023.

Before joining Blockchain Association, Marisa worked as an Associate at Covington & Burling LLP from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they handled various tasks such as developing investigation and litigation strategies, conducting risk assessments, and representing clients in investigations brought by Congress and various government agencies.

Marisa also gained experience as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court for the Central District of California from 2019 to 2020. Marisa worked as an Associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP from 2017 to 2019, and as a Summer Associate at the same firm in 2016.

In addition to their legal roles, Marisa has experience as a Legal Intern at Pressed Juicery from 2016 to 2017. Marisa also worked as a Sales/Marketing Manager at Stan Tashman & Associates from 2013 to 2014, and as a Business Development Associate at Brand Sense Partners from 2012 to 2013. Marisa volunteered on Mike Feuer's Transition Team at the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney in 2013.

Marisa started their career as a Research Assistant at The Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism from 2011 to 2012, where they were involved in project management, research, and preparing materials for related projects.

Marisa Tashman Coppel completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology, with a focus on Social Justice Social Policy, from Brandeis University, which they attended from 2009 to 2012. In 2008 to 2009, they studied Spanish Language and Culture at Universidad de Belgrano. Marisa's secondary education was completed at Marlborough School from 2002 to 2008.
