Maarten de Borst is a Managing Consultant at Numbers since March 2018 and serves as an Adviseur Crypto for Politie eenheid Amsterdam since February 2020. Maarten is also an author, with publications including "Crypto voor Intelligente Beleggers" for Uitgeverij Business Contact in 2024 and "Bouwen aan Digitaal Vertrouwen" for Noordhoff in 2022. In addition to teaching roles at NBA Opleidingen and Avans+, Maarten holds the position of Kwartiermaker Web3 Impact Hub at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and Kwartiermaker Educatie at Blockchain Netherlands (BCNL Foundation). Maarten is a lecturer on crypto and blockchain at LOI and has developed a course for University of Applied Sciences. As a co-founder of Coconut capital since May 2017, Maarten focuses on long-term alternative investments. Maarten holds a Cum Laude Master of Science in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Business Economics from Utrecht University.

We connect stakeholders and stimulate collaboration, awareness and adoption in the Netherlands and internationally. Together with partners, the significant amount of committed startups and scale-ups in the BCNL family achieve mutual goals through events, ecosystem collaboration and representation. - Events such as the Dutch Blockchain Week and our monthly meetups; - Ecosystem partners contain (international) tech hubs, global enterprises and governments; - Representation via lobby parties, political organisations and other foundations. Our mission: • We represent the interests of blockchain startups and scale-ups based in the Netherlands. Our mission is to increase the chance of success by optimizing the conditions for them; • Provide education and awareness; • Make the Netherlands a leading blockchain hub in the world; • Connecting the Dutch blockchain eco system, both nationally and internationally; • Facilitate mutual collaboration. • Demonstrate to society and (international) businesses what Dutch blockchain startups and scale-ups have to offer.
