Shirin Afzali

Shirin Afzali is a Senior Controls Engineer at Bloom Energy, where responsibilities include supporting software development and state machine design for hydrogen-powered solid oxide fuel cell systems. Previous experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Complex Systems Control Lab at the University of Georgia, where optimization strategies for supplemental lighting in greenhouses were developed, resulting in significant electricity cost reductions. Shirin also held an internship at Bloom Energy, focusing on modeling airflow for fuel cell systems, and worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tehran, designing course materials and facilitating lab sessions. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran.
