Kate Spellman

Kate Spellman is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public service and the arts sector. Currently serving in Arts and Culture Programs at Bloomberg Philanthropies since November 2018, Spellman also holds the position of Senior Advisor at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation since September 2014, where responsibilities include overseeing operations, programming, partnerships, and community relations. Previous roles include Chief of Staff at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, where Spellman managed the operations of the largest urban park system in the U.S., and Director of Special Projects at the NYC Office of the Mayor, where initiatives focused on public health were developed. In 2009, Spellman contributed as Borough Director for the Bloomberg campaign, managing grassroots operations and community relations in the Bronx. Spellman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 2005.
