Kengo Arao

Kengo Arao is a Senior ML Platform Engineer at Bloomberg since April 2024, focusing on modern search pipelines utilizing sparse and dense retrieval along with language model-assisted summary generation. Previously, Kengo served as a Software Engineer at Seldon, where feature development for Seldon Core and Seldon Enterprise Platform facilitated the large-scale deployment of machine learning models on Kubernetes. Kengo's experience also includes working at Mercari, Inc. as a Software Engineer specializing in machine learning, automating fraud detection for Japan's largest marketplace app. Earlier roles include contributing as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at The University of Edinburgh, a Full Stack Development Associate at SymbaSync Ltd., and a Data Science Intern at Finatext Ltd. Kengo holds a Master of Science in Machine Learning from UCL and a Master of Arts in Economics from The University of Edinburgh, complemented by a Junior Year Abroad at the University of Mannheim focusing on Economics and Data Science.
