David Heistad

David Heistad has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. David started their career as a Mental Health Treatment Coordinator at Cambridge State Hospital in 1978 and held this position until 1983. David then transitioned to the Minneapolis Public Schools Special Education Department, where they worked as a Special Education and Title 1 Evaluator from 1987 to 1997. Following this role, Heistad joined the Minneapolis Public Schools as an Executive Director of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment, a position they held from 1997 to 2012. David then moved on to Bloomington Public Schools, where they continued working as the Executive Director of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment from 2012 to the present.

David Heistad earned their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from St. Olaf College from 1970 to 1974. David then went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota from 1986 to 1999.
