Katy Schafer

Katy Schafer has extensive experience in the publishing industry, starting in 1997 with Penguin Books as an Assistant Inventory Manager and eventually becoming the Inventory Manager for Ladybird, Frederick Warne, and Rough Guides. Katy was responsible for forecasting sales, stock management, and managing multiple lists with diverse printing requirements. In 2003, they joined Hodder & Stoughton as an Inventory Manager until 2011. Katy then worked at Octopus Publishing Group as a Sales Support Manager from 2015 to 2020. Following that, they served as the Publishing Operations Manager at SPCK Publishing from 2020 to 2021. Currently, Katy is the Head of UK Sales Operations at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.

Katy Schafer attended Sir John Lawes School in Harpenden from 1984 to 1991. During this time, they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Following their time at Sir John Lawes School, Katy Schafer enrolled at the University of Warwick from 1991 to 1994. Katy obtained a Law LLB degree, focusing their studies on law.
