Anindya Sarkar has worked for three companies: BlossomHill Therapeutics, Inc. (2021-present) as a Senior Scientist, Scripps Research (2017-2021) as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, and Purdue University (2012-2017) as a Graduate Student Research and Teaching Assistant. At Scripps Research, their roles included discovery of small molecule agonists with proinflammatory and anticancer activities, elucidating the mechanism of action of a Duocarmyin-based N-O Prodrug, total synthesis of Meayamycin and O-acyl analogues, and synthesis and evaluation of thiourea-based Nox2 Inhibitors. At Purdue University, they won the 2017 ACS-Yao Yuan Award of Medicinal Chemistry and performed a convenient enantioselective synthesis of (–)-Alloyohimbane and (–)-Yohimbane by an efficient enzymatic desymmetrization process.
Anindya Sarkar completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Presidency College, Kolkata between 2007 and 2010. Anindya then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur between 2010 and 2012. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University between 2012 and 2017.
