Michael Phillips

Michael Phillips has a diverse work experience in the coffee industry. Michael started their career as the Director of Education at Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea, where they guided the educational track for the retail and wholesale arms of the company. Michael then co-founded Handsome Coffee Roasters, LLC, where they focused on high-end specialty coffee for retail, wholesale, and catering services. After that, they joined Blue Bottle Coffee, initially as the Director of Training, responsible for managing the company's training program internationally. Michael later held roles as the Director of Cafe Experience and the Director of Coffee Culture, where they managed programs to increase engagement with coffee culture both internally and externally. Michael then became the Global Director of Education & Engagement, followed by their current role as the Sr. Editorial Director at Blue Bottle Coffee.

Michael Phillips attended Northern Michigan University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Cinema.
