Briand Oaks

Briand Oaks is an accomplished mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace and tourism industries. Currently serving as the Cubesat Mechanical Engineering Team Lead and Mechanical Engineer at Blue Canyon Technologies since March 2019, Briand has demonstrated strong leadership and engineering skills. Prior to this role, Briand founded Climb Lisbon, a rock climbing tourism company, managing all aspects of the business from marketing to customer service. Briand's earlier experience includes pivotal roles at Planet Labs, where key contributions included the design of components for the Dove satellite and leading significant R&D projects, as well as internships at NASA Ames Research Center and Dryden Drop Tower Research Lab that focused on advanced experimental designs. Briand holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University and has a background in art and design from institutions like the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
