David Kochman

Head Of Communications at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina

David Kochman has extensive experience in communications and public relations. David started their career as a Government Analyst for Governor Lawton Chiles in 1995. David then moved on to work as a Campaign Manager for various state senate campaigns in 1995-1996. From 1996 to 1998, they served as a Senior Legislative Aide for Rep. Fred Lippman. Following that, they worked as a Senior Account Manager at Adkins & Associates from 1998 to 2006. In 2006, they became the Communications Director for Rod Smith for Governor and later for Christine Jennings for Congress, where they managed the communications department and was responsible for media appearances and positioning the legal case to end paperless voting. In 2007, they joined Governor Bev Perdue and Bev Perdue for Governor Campaign as their Communications Director. Most recently, they were the Director of Communications and then the Head of Communications at Blue Cross NC starting in 2010.

David Kochman attended the University of Florida from 1988 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. David then continued their education at the same university from 1993 to 1995 and received a Master of Arts degree in Political Science with Honors, along with a Certificate in Political Campaigns.
