Marcus Wallace, MD, MBA, FACP has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Marcus currently holds the position of Chief Medical Officer and VP of Clinical Operations and Innovation at Blue Cross NC since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Clinical Officer and Regional Vice President II for the West Region Medicaid at Elevance Health from 2019 to 2022. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Centene Corporation/Louisiana Healthcare Connections. Additionally, they have held various hospitalist roles at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, North Oaks Health System, and Sound Inpatient Physicians. Marcus has also served as a Chief Medical Officer at Anthem, Inc./ Amerigroup Louisiana from 2013 to 2015 and as a Medical Director at UnitedHealthcare Community Plan/Louisiana in 2012. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Regional Medical Director at Health Net of Arizona and as an Associate Chief Medical Officer at Aetna/Mercy Care Plan.

Marcus also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana. In addition to their medical training, they have pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Healthcare Administration from The George Washington University School of Business. Lastly, they have completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
