Ryland Pigg

Ryland Pigg has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the actuarial field. In their most recent position at Blue Cross NC, they served as AVP and Head of Actuarial Services and Valuation, where they led a team of 19 employees and was responsible for attracting and retaining top talent. Prior to this, Ryland worked as a Director of Actuarial Services - Valuation, where they served as the Appointed Actuary for two subsidiaries. Ryland also held roles as a Staff Valuation Actuary and Assistant Actuary, where they managed valuation functions and led pricing efforts for the Medicare Advantage Bid. Ryland began their career as an Actuarial Analyst, specializing in Medicare pricing. Additionally, they gained teaching and research experience as a Graduate Assistant at North Carolina State University and served as an Actuarial Pricing Intern at Colonial Life. Ryland also worked as an NNEMS Fellow at the US EPA. Ryland holds an MBA and has expertise in finance, human resource management, ethics, strategy, and technology innovation.

Ryland Pigg has a strong education background in statistics and financial management. Ryland obtained a Master's Degree in Statistics from North Carolina State University in 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Statistics from the same university in the years 2004-2010. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Mathematics, with a concentration in Financial Math, from North Carolina State University in the years 2008-2010.

In terms of certification, Ryland Pigg has achieved several notable certifications. Ryland became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in March 2016 and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) in May 2015. Ryland also attained the title of Associate of the Society of Actuaries in March 2015.
