Fatima Ornelas

Fatima Ornelas is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in clinical support and program coordination. Currently serving as a GAU Clinical Support Specialist and Utilization Management Support Specialist at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island since October 2022, Fatima provides essential support for Utilization Review and Care Coordination related to the prior authorization process. Prior to this role, Fatima spent nearly nine years at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, where responsibilities included developing policies and procedures for Medicare/Medicaid lines of business and overseeing the credentialing process. Fatima’s career began at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island in 1996 as a Healthcare Associate and includes various roles in quality control and workers' compensation.
