Melanie Coon

Melanie Coon has a diverse and extensive work experience in various communications and marketing roles. Melanie began their career at Brown University, where they served as an Associate Director of Alumni Relations from 1988 to 1997, and later as an Assistant Vice President of University Relations from 1997 to 2004. Coon then joined The Rhode Island Foundation as the Senior Vice President of Communications & Marketing from 2007 to 2013, where they provided oversight for all communications and marketing functions. Melanie also served as Communications/Advancement Consultant for higher education and nonprofit organizations from 2013 to 2015. Currently, Coon holds the role of Managing Director of Corporate Communications at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island since 2015.

Melanie Coon attended Brown University from 1974 to 1978, where they obtained an A.B. degree in the field of study of Semiotics.
