Rose Amoros Jones

Rose Amoros Jones was appointed director of the Rhode Island Division of Elderly Affairs in 2019. During her first year as director, she led efforts to secure legislative passage to rename the division to the Office of Healthy Aging, marking an important shift in the state’s narrative on aging. Director Jones has more than 20 years of experience in the public, private, and non-profit sectors and has served in key leadership roles within state government for the past eight years. Her work has helped shape laws and policies that promote health and a more equitable, resilient Rhode Island. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Director Jones has helped lead the state’s emergency response and support vulnerable residents, communities, and businesses in navigating the crisis.

Director Jones grew up in the West End and Southside neighborhoods of Providence. She earned her undergraduate degree from Providence College, summa cum laude, and her MBA from Salve Regina University, with a concentration in international relations and social justice. Jones is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Rhode Island and lives in North Providence with her husband and four children.
