Ian Doebber, PE, currently serves as Principal Engineer at Blue Frontier, Inc., where co-leads the digital services team focusing on HVAC and thermal energy storage technology. Prior experience includes founding Latent Engineering to advance energy efficiency and IoT solutions, managing product development of automated Fault Detection & Diagnostic solutions at Turntide Technologies, and serving as Senior R&D Engineer at Transformative Wave, integrating energy systems with emerging technologies. At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Ian was a Senior Engineer, overseeing advanced building systems research and contributing to ASHRAE design guidelines. Early career experience includes mechanical and facade design engineering at Arup. Ian holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Economics from Bucknell University.
