Anurup Mohanty is a distinguished researcher and educator with a focus on astrobiology and environmental microbiology. Currently serving as a Visiting Scholar and Research Associate at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, Anurup has contributed to the Knowledge Base of the Life Detection Forum at NASA Ames Research Center through an internship. Anurup also works as a Production Assistant for the monthly live show "Ask an Astrobiologist," supported by the NASA Astrobiology Program. Previous experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at Northwestern University, Project Assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, Science Lead for the RUDRA - SRM MARS ROVER team, and various research positions at academic institutions. Anurup is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Northwestern University, building on a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from SRM IST Chennai.
