Christopher Martin

Christopher Martin serves as a Visiting Scholar at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) since February 2023 and has held the position of Director of the Global Engagement Office at West Virginia University since June 1999, overseeing international partnerships across various health-related schools. Christopher also supervises an Occupational and Environmental Medicine resident and acts as the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for the School of Public Health, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements for accredited programs. Additionally, Christopher directed the Occupational Medicine department, overseeing a team of physicians and staff engaged in medical surveillance programs. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Memorial University, a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Health Science from the University of Alberta, and a Fellowship in Occupational Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. An undergraduate degree in Biology with a focus on Human Genetics was obtained from McGill University.
