Dolly Cardano Manic

Dolly Cardano Manic is a University Research Associate at the University of the Philippines, specializing in metallomics and inorganic biogeochemistry within the Marine Science Institute. Since August 2020, Dolly has focused on the roles of nutrients in biological systems to promote sustainable biotechnological applications, particularly in micro- and macroalgal biotechnology. Additionally, as a Visiting Scholar at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science since June 2022, Dolly has contributed to the development and validation of Harmful Algal Blooms detection models utilizing satellite data. Dolly also serves as a Researcher in Space Architecture at DEEP SPACE INITIATIVE, working on life support system technologies alongside notable advisors. Previous experience includes a role as a Research Assistant exploring indigenous plants in the Cordillera Region for their effectiveness against drug-resistant bacteria. Dolly holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of the Philippines and is pursuing a Master's degree in Marine Science, with a focus on Marine Biotechnology.
