Position Profile 

Reporting to the Chief Strategic Development Officer and Chief Governance Officer (CSDO) while also receiving guidance and input from other senior leaders, the Director, Investor Relations is responsible for helping to shape Blue Meridian’s strategy for fundraising and engaging current and prospective Partners and other investors. The Director, Investor Relations will have day-to-day operational responsibility for the implementation of the fund-raising and prospective and current investor engagement strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Partner Engagement and Development. Working alongside the CSDO, CEO and other BMP senior leaders to:

  • Support the ongoing development of the fundraising strategy and approach, working with the CSDO, CEO and other senior leaders.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities across multiple funds/portfolios.
  • Undertake market analysis to identify prospective investors. Develop opportunities for introductions.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of investor opportunities.
  • Organize and run the fundraising team meetings and ensure timely follow-up on actions.
  • Work with the Finance team to help structure deals and agreements and track commitments.
  • Ensure appropriate materials are developed / revised for Partner and prospect meetings, working closely with the Branding and Communications team, as needed.
  • Cultivate funding opportunities as appropriate and in conjunction with the CSDO and CEO.
  • Oversee planning and execution of Partner and prospect meetings, including agenda setting, oversight of materials production, coordination with BMP senior leaders.
  • Working collaboratively (including with the CSDO, CEO and the Branding and Communications team) to develop and execute a strategy for continued engagement of existing Partners through events, communications, and other experiences.
  • Strategically sequence, plan, and organize partner-related work required to successfully deliver on Board, Board committee, General Partner, Impact Partner, and Co-sponsor (“Board and investor”) meetings.
  • Work with the CEO, CSDO/CGO, and other senior leaders to strategically create and manage processes for Partner meetings and interaction, including meeting agendas, minutes, and investor materials.
  • Ensure effective communication between the Investor Relations team and other internal teams, to define requirements, manage updates and develop delivery plans for all investor-related materials.
  • Working closely with the Branding and Communications team, oversee the ongoing development and management of the online “Partners’ Portal”, to provide Board members and Partners quick, user-friendly access to relevant materials and information.
  • Oversee record keeping for all investor-related documents.

Supervision:

  • Along with CSDO, supervise and develop more junior team members.
  • Delegate responsibilities as appropriate, utilizing the strengths of the investor relations team.
  • Implement and enforce best-in-class investor relations processes and procedures.
  • Provide excellent service to Partners through both direct contact and support of the investor relations team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Investor Relations Experience: At least 7 years of hands-on experience in an investor relations role. Experience in strategic philanthropy and / or investor relations in financial services interacting with high-profile stakeholders is desirable.
  • Relationship Management: A demonstrated track record of building long-term relationships with investors, financially complex and can speak with credibility. Experience raising capital from high-net-worth individuals and family offices is desirable.
  • Project Management: Outstanding organizational and project management skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fluid, dynamic environment. Experience structuring investor deals and agreements is highly desirable.
  • Presentation/Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft presentations, letters, and memoranda; synthesize a large amount of material into clear and concise documents, emails and reports.

The hiring salary for this position is $$208,000. In addition to the base salary, each member of Blue Meridian is eligible to receive a performance based variable incentive bonus.
